5 players whose IPL 2023 wages are greater than their SA20 salaries

IPL 2023 begins in set to kick-off in a couple of months. The biggest T20 league in the world, with 10 franchises and a star-studded roster, will shortly grab all eyeballs. Last month, Kochi hosted the IPL 2023 mini-auction. Prior to the IPL 2023 season, more than 75 players received contracts from the 10 franchises. In addition, for the 2023 season, the teams retained the majority of players from IPL 2022.

Indian Premiere League is also the highest paying league. Here is a list of players who will be getting higher wages in IPL 2023 edition compared to the ongoing SA20 league.

1.    Alzarri Joseph

The best T20 leagues in the globe have shown interest in the Caribbean fast bowler Alzarri Joseph. In the recent auction he was sold to the Gujarat Titans (GT), who are also the reigning champions. In IPL 2023, GT kept him for 2.4 crore INR. The Joburg Super Kings of SA20 gave Joseph a R 2.1 million deal this year which is approximately equivalent to 99.71 lakh INR.

2.    Josh Little

Another Pretoria Capitals player on the list is Josh Little. At the auction for SA20, PC signed Little for R 1.5 million (about 71.22 lakh INR). The Irish left-arm bowler made history by being the first member of his country to win an IPL contract during last month’s IPL 2023 Auction. Josh little cost Gujarat Titans, a whopping 4.4 crore. It will be intriguing to see the Irish player’s first IPL season to see how he does.

3.    Harry Brook

Harry Brook, a rising talent in England, has established a strong batting reputation for himself across cricket leagues. The SunRisers Hyderabad paid 13.25 crore INR for the English batter, making Brook one of the top picks at the IPL 2023 Auction. The Joburg Super Kings (JSK) managed to sign him for less than 1 crore INR at the first SA20 Auction, which will surprise many fans. JSK paid R 2.1 million (around 99.71 lakh INR) to get him.

Jacks was hired by Royal Challengers Bangalore last month for 3.2 crore INR, nearly six times his SA20 wage.

5.    Phil Salt

Phil Salt is another cricketer from England who made the list. At the IPL Auction 2023, Delhi Capitals (DC) paid the powerful wicket-keeper batter his base price of 2 crore INR and acquired him. Salt competes for the Pretoria Capitals (PC), a sister team of DC in the SA20 league. He was signed by PC for R 2 million, or around 94.96 lakh INR.
