Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh a cricket player for the Indian national team, was born on February 5, 1999, in India. He competes in the Indian Premier League for Punjab and Punjab Kings in domestic cricket in India. Arshdeep bats in the lower order with his left hand and bowls medium-fast with his left arm. In a Twenty20 International (T20I) game against England in July 2022, Arshdeep made his international debut for the Indian squad. As the third Indian bowler to do so in a T20I debut, he bowled a maiden over on his debut.

Domestic Career
He played for the under-23 national squad after being a member of the Indian under-19 team that won the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Arshdeep later made his List A debut for Punjab in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy on September 19, 2018 and his first-class debut in the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy against Vidarbha in January 2019. Arshdeep was selected for the Indian team to compete in the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Bangladesh in November. He was chosen as one of the five net bowlers for India’s visit to Sri Lanka in June 2021. Arshdeep consented in March 2023 to represent Kent County Cricket Club in up to five County Championship games during the 2023 English cricket season.

IPL Career and Statistics
He was purchased by Kings XI Punjab in December 2018 during the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League. On April 16, 2019, he made his Twenty20 debut for the team. He was hailed as a potential future star player and concluded the season as the team’s second-highest wicket taker.

International Career
On July 7, 2022, when playing against England in Southampton, he made his T20I debut, capturing the final two England wickets and bowling a rare maiden over. He was included in India’s team for the series against South Africa in October 2022, and he went on to capture five wickets in two T20Is. Arshdeep was selected in September to represent India in the ICC T20 World Cup. He took a wicket with his first ball in the team’s opening game against Pakistan and finished with 3/32 in his four overs. With 10 wickets in six games and a bowling average of 15.60 runs per wicket, he was India’s best wicket-taker in the tournament. Arshdeep played his first One Day International (ODI) in Auckland in November 2022 against New Zealand. but playing in all three of the ODIs during the tour, he failed to claim a wicket, but having four wickets in the two T20I games.
