Devon Conway

Devon Conway, a cricket player for the New Zealand cricket team, was born in South Africa on July 8, 1991. The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced in March 2020 that Conway will be qualified to represent New Zealand starting on August 28, 2020. Prior to the 2020–21 season, New Zealand Cricket granted him a central contract in May 2020.

Domestic Career
Conway began participating in domestic cricket in South Africa. He was a member of the Gauteng team for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup in August of that year. He participated in all three of Gauteng’s games and scored 53 runs. He relocated to New Zealand in August 2017 at the age of 26 in order to pursue a cricket career.
He received a contract in June 2018 with Wellington for the New Zealand 2018–19 season. Conway produced an undefeated double century against Otago at the Basin Reserve in the second round of the 2018–19 Plunket Shield season. With 363 runs in nine matches, he was the 2018–19 Super Smash‘s top run-scorer. With 659 runs in seven games during the 2018–19 Plunket Shield season, he also had the highest run total.

IPL Career and Statistics
He was purchased by Chennai Super Kings in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League competition in February 2022. He made seven appearances in 2022, making 252 runs at an average of 42, and established a new record for Chennai with a first wicket stand of 182 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

International Career and Statistics
On November 27, 2020, he played in his first T20I match for New Zealand against the West Indies. Conway was appointed to New Zealand’s Test squad in December 2020, filling in for BJ Watling, who sustained a hamstring injury. On March 20, 2021, against Bangladesh, he played in his first ODI for New Zealand. Conway’s first ODI century came on March 26, 2021, against Bangladesh in the third game of the series.
