India Cricket Team All The Way From The Lords

The Indian squad has just arrived at The Oval in preparation for their 2023 matchup against Australia in the ICC World Test Championship final. In the ICC video shared on Instagram, players including Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Mohammed Shami, Shubman Gill, Shardul Thakur, and Mohammed Siraj can be seen warming up and perfecting their fielding. While Siraj made a few high catches, Gill practiced catching in the slips. Later, Rahane, Kohli, Sharma, and Gill suited up and practiced some defensive strokes. The batters’ practice sessions were aided by the main squad bowlers as well as the support bowlers. Rahul Dravid, the head coach, kept a tight eye on the practice. Mohammed Shami bowled with a very short run-up, while Suryakumar Yadav was observed laughing with a member of the support crew.

The Indian team’s dedication in the nets thrilled the crowd. A few keen-eyed spectators also noted that Virat Kohli arrived at The Oval for practice with a kit bag that was strikingly similar to his Royal Challengers Bangalore bag. Since Team India last won a significant ICC trophy at the senior level in men’s cricket, it has been almost ten years. The Men in Blue last triumphed in an ICC competition in 2013, when MS Dhoni led India to victory in the ICC Champions Trophy.
