Fastest bowler in the world

Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, known as Rawalpindi Express, is considered the quickest bowler in the world. Due to his long run-up and unique bouncing balls, he was considered one of the toughest bowlers in the world at his peak times.

During the ICC World Cup, in 2003 he bowled his fastest delivery of 161.3 km/hr against England at Capetown (South Africa). This 100 miles delivery made him the first player in ICC cricket to be a speed gun in the era. His aggressive and unique bowling style was the main hurdle for the opposition batters.

During his career from 1997 to 2011, Shoaib Akhtar took 178 Test wickets and 247 ODI wickets. He is known as one of the hardest fast bowlers for batters and enjoys a good reputation in his country for good cricket analysis.
