India Rest Star Pacer Jasprit Bumrah for Fourth Test vs England

Jasprit Bumrah won’t play in the fourth Test against England, which starts on February 23 in Ranchi. It looks like KL Rahul will miss the fourth Test as well, after missing the second and third ones. He might play in the final Test in Dharamsala, but only if he is healthy enough.

The decision to give Jasprit Bumrah a break was made considering his heavy workload, as he has bowled 80.5 overs in the first three Tests. This choice also takes into account the upcoming IPL season and the 2024 T20 World Cup, which begins on June 1. While some speculated that Bumrah would sit out the third Test in Rajkot due to the series being tied at 1-1, he did indeed participate in the game.

Mukesh Kumar Returns

For the third Test in Rajkot, Mukesh Kumar was not part of the team. He has now joined the team in Ranchi. After being let go, he played in the Ranji Trophy match for Bengal against Bihar and got 10 for 50, which was the best game of his career. Bengal won by a huge margin.

India now has a 2-1 lead in the five-match series after a record 434-run win in Rajkot. They will need to find a way to replace Bumrah, who isn’t playing because he’s taking 17 wickets at 13.64 per wicket in the series. He got 9 for 91 in both innings as India won the second Test in Visakhapatnam. He was named Player of the Match.

Mukesh vs. Akash Deep

While Mohammed Siraj was out for the second Test against England, Mukesh played. He bowled just 12 overs in Vishakapatnam and got 1 for 70.

If India plays two fast bowlers in Ranchi, the choice for the second quick will be between Mukesh and the uncapped Akash Deep, who was included in the squad for the last three Tests after topping the wicket charts for India A in the recent first-class games against England Lions.

Rahul’s Recovery

India lost the first Test in Hyderabad, with Rahul scoring 86 and 22. This was India’s best total in the match, but he missed the second Test because of a thigh injury. He put on the team for the third Test as long as he was healthy, but a sore knee kept him out.

This Friday, the fourth Test between India and England starts, just four days after the third Test ended. The fifth and final Test doesn’t start until March 7, eight days after the fourth Test ended on February 27.
