Saurabh Netravalkar, the bowler who gave USA victory by bowling a brilliant super over against Pakistan, is excited to face India. IND vs USA: Netravalkar recalled the time of the super over

While talking to Times of India, Saurabh Netravalkar recalled the time before bowling a memorable super over against Pakistan. He said, “This was not decided in advance and the captain and coach informed me about it only after the regular 20 overs. I am grateful to them for showing faith in me.”

“The plan was simple that I would try to bowl wide yorkers to the right-handers and try to keep it out of his reach, because the boundary on that side was big. On the first ball, the batsman shifted and didn’t get a wide, and on the second ball, he stuck and then, I got a few wides, because I was trying for a wide line,” said Netravalkar.

IT job and cricket jugglery

Saurabh Netravalkar, apart from playing cricket for USA, is also a software engineer at Oracle company here. He also revealed plans to juggle both things.

“The best thing is that I have got very supportive bosses at Oracle and when I am on tour, playing for USA, I am allowed to work from outside. So on match days, I get an exemption from work. But then there are project meetings as well in which my presence is necessary and then I plan my practice schedule accordingly. I would also like to thank the American Cricket Board because they are also flexible if I have meetings,” said Netravalkar.

Saurabh Netravalkar is looking forward to facing the Indian team in the T20 World Cup. He has previously played for India in the junior team and knows many of the players.

Netravalkar said, “I know all of them, and Suryakumar and I have played together for Mumbai Under 15, Under 17, Under 19. It is great to see what they have achieved and it will be great to take their wickets as well. It will be really emotional to play against India.”
