India makes a tough call for the upcoming World Cup: Gill over Kishan

The Marquee event is set to take place in India in September-October, and India only has 15 ODI’s before that. Indian selectors are currently spoiled for choice as multiple players are competing for the same spot, and all are equally good. Once the Indian management decided that they no longer want to pursue with Shikhar Dhawan, the opening spot was up for the grabs.
Ishan Kishan was given the opportunity against Bangladesh, and he grabbed it with both hands by racking up a double century. However, the selectors have opted to go with Shubman Gill as they believe that his calmness and suave would complement Rohit’s playing style. It is a tough call by the selectors, especially considering Kishan’ current form and the fact that he can also keep wickets, moreover he is also a left hander. A left hand-right hand opening combination is always handy, but it would be interesting to see how Gill responds to the challenge.
Let’s see what’s coming ahead
