Inventor of Dilscoop Shot in Cricket

One of the most liked and technical shots is the Scoop shot in cricket. Tillekeratne Dilshan, Sri Lankan opening batsman, credited the inventor of this glorious hit in ICC cricket. The Dilscoop is different from the paddle scoop because Dilshan’s scoop is played straight over the head of the wicketkeeper, while the paddle scoop is hit to one side of the wicketkeeper.

He won the T20 International Performance of the Year award at the 2009 ICC Award due to scoring 96 runs on 57 balls against West Indies in the semi-final of the 2009 T20 World Cup, played in England. Not that only, but, he won the man-of-the-series trophy for his fabulous batting performances in the ICC T20 World Cup 2009 tournament. Dilshan was also a key player of the Sri Lankan team that won the T20 World Cup 2014 and part of the team that played the finals of the Cricket World Cup 2007, Cricket World Cup 2011, T20 Cricket World Cup 2009 and ICC T20 World Cup 2012.
