MI gave a call to Chris Jordan replacing injured contemporary Jofra Archer

The five times champions MI is in the 8th position in the points table with 5 wins in 10 matches. Usually MI finds them self  in topper half of the table irrespective of this time and reason is surely the bowling unit. Injury here and there and bowlers failing to maintain their fitness. Jofra Archer is the name who has been ruled out because of injury. He already missed couple of match for MI and now he is completely ruled out of the tournament. English man Chris Jordan replacing his country man for the rest of the tournament.

MI twitted the Replacement for Jofra Archer

Mumbai Indians took the twitter to inform about the inclusion of Chris Jordan in place of Injured Jofra Archer. Only five of MI’s ten games this season saw Archer on the field, and he struggled to take more than a few wickets. He had a 9.5 economy rate and a 95 average. He was struggling from the day 1 of IPL and thus he is returning home for rehabilitation.

Jofra Archer’s injury forced Mumbai Indians (MI) to name Chris Jordan as his replacement for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Jordan has played in 28 IPL games and taken 27 wickets since making his IPL debut in 2016.

Archer exclusion is a loss for MI

Archer was expected to direct the MI attack for Rohit Sharma‘s team in the absence of pacer spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who will miss the entire 2023 season due to a back injury. But because Archer’s knee was injured, he had to leave the MI camp and he needed a replacement. This whole replacement after replacement scenario is going to cost MI heavy in the coming days of IPL. MI was overcoming of Jasprit’s injury they got another blow in the likes of Archer who was suppose to be their prime attack in the powerplay as well as in the death overs.

What Comes Along With Chris Jordan

Jordan should be available for MI’s upcoming game against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday night after joining the five-time champions for Rs 2 crore.     Jordan has previously played for teams like RCB and Chennai Super Kings. He was a member of the England team that won the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia last year. Jordan has taken 27 wickets in 28 games so far of the Indian Premier League, with a best of 4/11. He is a T20 specialist who can contribute both with bat and ball and his electrifying fielding on the boundary can put impact in the course of the game. He can be the asset that can give good returns to MI side.
