In the 2012–13 Ranji Trophy, Sharma picked up 37 wickets from 7 games at an average of 23 after working with fast bowling coach Ian Pont. He has participated in 62 List A matches and 44 First Class matches. He becomes one of the most profitable bowlers to bet on with over 200 wickets in domestic circuit.

IPL Carrer and Statistics
The 2013 IPL season saw him sign a deal with the Chennai Super Kings team. In the 2013 Indian Premier League, he participated in 15 games and claimed 23 wickets. He was purchased by the Chennai Super Kings for 5 crores in the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League in December 2018. Ahead of the 2020 IPL auction, the Chennai Super Kings released him. He was purchased by the Delhi Capitals in the 2020 Indian Premier League auction. Mohit was signed up by the brand-new Gujarat Titans on March 26, 2022, to serve as a net bowler for the IPL 2022 season. Gujarat Titans purchased him at the Indian Premier League 2023 Auction and currently playing for GT and taking wickets.

International Career and Statistics
During India’s tour of Zimbabwe, Sharma made his debut for his country in the fourth One-Day International against Zimbabwe. Sikandar Raza, the opening batsman for Zimbabwe, was struck out by Sharma in the fourth over of his economical stint (2/26 in 10 overs). After Sandeep Patil, Sharma became the second Indian to win man of the match honours in his first ODI.
