Ravindra replaces Henry Nicholls, who has been out of form lately. The batter hasn’t scored more than 40 in any of his last 11 Tests, and that includes an unbeaten 200 against Sri Lanka in Wellington in March 2023.

While Ravindra played his first Test match in November 2021 against India in Kanpur, he hasn’t played one since the 2022 New Year’s Test against Bangladesh. An impressive performance in 2023 earned him the ICC Emerging Player-of-the-Year award, which led to his return for a Test match.
