Former Pakistan captain appealed to ICC, demanded to shift the match from Florida

PAK vs IRE: Azhar Ali has demanded the ICC to shift the T20 World Cup matches of Group A to another venue due to bad weather in Florida.

Pakistan team is currently in trouble during the T20 World Cup. After losing 2 out of 3 matches in the group stage, they now have only one match left, which is to be held in Florida. It is not only important for them to win this match, but also to hope that USA loses in the match against Ireland. In this situation, they will be entitled to qualify for the Super-8.

However, the matches to be held in Florida can also be affected by rain. Due to this, former Pakistan captain Azhar Ali has appealed to the ICC regarding this and has demanded to shift the matches.

While talking on a Pakistani TV channel, Azhar Ali said, “Looking at the conditions in Florida, it seems that the matches will not be held. The ICC should take action, knowing that many matches will be affected and shifted to another place. Even if two matches are at the same place. I am sure the teams involved would have contacted the ICC and asked to shift the games.”

He said, “The ICC needs to take quick action and I am sure that logistically it will not be difficult. Questions will be raised on the ICC if the match is not held in Florida. There are already questions on the pitch standards in New York.”

How is the weather in Florida?

Pakistan has to play its important match against Ireland on June 16 in Lauderhill, Florida. Here, the temperature is expected to remain at 27-28 degrees Celsius throughout the day. Apart from this, there is a 61-70 percent chance of rain on the day of the match. In such a situation, rain can spoil Pakistan’s hopes.

On the other hand, the match is to be played between USA and Ireland today, but there are chances of rain here too. In such a situation, if the match is washed out due to rain, both teams will be given one point each. With this, Pakistan will be eliminated from the group stage itself and USA will qualify for the Super-8.
