Pakistan accepts the World Cup schedule change against India

Pakistan will now play Sri Lanka on October 10 instead of October 12, to have enough of a gap before the match against India.

The India-Pakistan game at the 2023 ODI World Cup will now be played on October 14 rather than the scheduled date of October 15 as released in the original ICC schedule. Though the ICC is yet to release a revised schedule, which is expect by the end of this week, IndiaSports Club understands the PCB agreed to the change. The match will still play in Ahmedabad.

The World Cup’s major match’s date change affects Pakistan’s match against Sri Lanka in Hyderabad. Pakistan will have enough time between matches by playing on October 10 instead of October 12, at the same site.

The India-Pakistan date change will likely affect other games and teams. Bangladesh plays New Zealand in Chennai and Afghanistan plays England in Delhi on October 14. The game on October 13 may be affect.

Two months before the ODI World Cup, the schedule already delayed, prompting the adjustments. The BCCI and ICC issued it in June, 100 days before the event. The 2019 and 2015 World Cup fixtures revealed more than 12 months in advance.

The tournament begins on October 5 in Ahmedabad with reigning champions England playing New Zealand, however, the ICC and BCCI have not yet confirmed match ticket sales.
