Second Innings

In reply RR came with a surprise, they sent Ashwin to open the innings. However, the gamble did not paid off as the veteran spinner could not even open his account. Captain Sanju Samson played a good aggressive knock of 42 runs but could not carry on. For PBKS the good news is that both their openers are in great form. The opening partnership of 90 laid the foundation for a huge total, and later order batters capitalized on it. However, their front line opening bowlers Sam Curran and Arshdeep Singh went for plenty and both gave away 91 runs in eight overs, which given the dynamics of the game was huge. Hence, if PBKS intends to do better in the next game, both these players need to up the ante. RR on the contrary need to rethink their game plan as both bowling and batting department failed miserably, moreover they could not create enough chances in the field also.
