PSL 2023 Replacement Draft and All Supplementary Picks

After it was known that several players wouldn’t be available for the entirety of the tournament, the PCB organized the replacement draft for PSL 2023, which also included two supplementary picks for each team.

Names like Harry Brook, Rashid Khan, Alex Hales, David Miller, and some others won’t play all of their matches. They will be leaving the tournament midway due to national duties or other reasons.

Therefore, the PSL 8 governing body needed to arrange a draft where the team owners can pick replacement players for the ones that would be leaving.

Pakistan Cricket Board said in a statement:

“On the request of the franchises, the PCB has agreed to increase the number of players per side to 20, allowing each franchise to pick two additional Supplementary players. The Supplementary players will be picked in the Replacement Draft, which will take place on Tuesday, 24 January.”

So, the draft has already taken place, and here we’ll be looking at all the new faces that will make their way into the Pakistan Super League 2023.

I’ll first list down the replacement draft for each franchise, and then we’ll move on to the supplementary picks.

Replacement Draft

The partially available players will play the matches they can before leaving. But once they leave, the teams can introduce the players they picked as their replacements.

Supplementary Picks

All the franchises were allowed two supplementary picks with a maximum of one foreign player. Each team except Lahore and Peshawar made both of its picks with these two franchises reserving one of theirs.
