Chennai Super Kings on the other hand maintained their composure and continued to break the wickets. In the end, RCB needed to score eight runs on the final ball of the game to prevail. The bowler for the Chennai Super Kings, however, maintained composure and delivered a flawless legal delivery denying RCB the victory.

In the 25 games played between the two teams, Chennai Super Kings have been the more dominant team, winning 14 of them. 10 games have been won by Royal Challengers Bangalore, and one game resulted in a tie.
