Ruturaj Gaikwad got run out despite reaching the crease

Actually, this incident was seen in the 12th over of Puneri’s innings which was bowled by Yogesh Chavan from Ratnagiri. The first ball of this over, which was full length, was played by Gaikwad between mid-wicket and long-on. After this, he completed the run quickly and also ran for the second run.

Meanwhile, the fielder threw the ball at the wicketkeeper’s end. The keeper scattered the stumps as soon as he caught the ball and the on-field umpire sought the help of the third umpire. On seeing the replay, it was found that when the keeper caught the ball, Gaikwad’s bat had reached the crease.

During this, his foot hit the bat, due to which the bat fell down from Gaikwad’s hand and during that time the keeper scattered the stumps. No part of Gaikwad’s body was in the crease, due to which he was declared run out. Gaikwad also looked very disappointed after getting out in this way.

Before getting out, the right-handed batsman was looking in good rhythm. Gaikwad scored 29 runs in 15 balls, which included a four and a six.
