South Africa made England lose in their 1st ODI international 2023

The South African team set a target of 299 runs in 50 overs after batting first due to winning the toss. Rassie van der Dussen smashed a brilliant century, while David Miller added crucial 53 runs to the total. Sam Curren from England’s side took 3 wickets.

England’s openers provide a good start to their team, as Jason Roy and Dawid Malan added 53 runs in the first nine overs. Furthermore, Roy smashed a brilliant century to take his team even close to the win. At that time, it seemed to be a one-sided match, but South African bowlers brilliantly made their team come back into the match.

Anrich Nortje took 4 wickets for 62 runs in his 10 overs spell, while Sisanda Magala out 3 batsmen after giving 46 runs in 9 overs and Kagiso Rabada took 2 wickets for 46 runs in his 10 overs spell and destroyed the England batting line-up at the end as England team was all-out at 271 runs in 44.2 overs. In this way, Jason Roy’s century was in vain as England lost this match by 27 runs at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein on Friday.
Rassie van der Dussen was nominated as the Player of the Match for his brilliant century.
