India vs. New Zealand (IND vs. NZ):

India set a goal of 386 runs for New Zealand while batting first. In return, the Kiwi squad could only muster 295 runs, losing the game. Team India played both superb batting and bowling. Amazing century were played by Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma. By capturing Santner off a ball bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal, Virat Kohli put an end to New Zealand’s innings. In 29 balls, Santner scored 34 runs.

Speaking of the game, Shubman Gill once again emerged victorious. In the three-match series, the young batsman displayed incredible talent and set a record by scoring 360 runs. In the first ODI, Gill achieved a double century and a fantastic century. For this effort, he was also given the title of “Player of the Match.”

The captain also spoke about the opening partner.Hitman and skipper, Sharma said about his opening partner Shubman Gill, “Shubman focuses on only one thing.He tries to make a fresh start in every match. His attitude as a young batter is fantastic. Today’s century means a lot to me. I was batting well with the pitch. We don’t talk much about rankings. We just focus on how the pitch is behaving. Australia is a great team. It will not be easy for us to face them, but I know we are ready for it.”

In the press conference following the game, captain Rohit Sharma also disclosed who player the other players refer to as a magician.. Sharma said about Shardul Thakur, “Shardul has been performing well. The players in the squad fondly call him the magician, and he delivered today as well. He has to play more. I gave the ball to Kuldeep, so he also gave us the required wickets. Wrist spinners are getting better with time.”

The Indian team has risen to the top of the ODI world rankings after winning this match. The three-match T20 series between the teams of India and New Zealand will now begin on January 27 in Ranchi.
