Multiple wides and no-balls have been thrown by CSK bowlers during this IPL. They bowled six wides even against RCB on Monday. Despite being one of the most composed cricketers in the game, CSK captain MS Dhoni was compelled to issue a warning due to the extras problem with his bowlers. They will be required to bowl fewer wides and no no-balls. After defeating LSG earlier this month, Dhoni had said, “We are bowling too many extra deliveries and need to cut them out or they’ll be playing for a new captain.
In that much time, CSK had bowled 13 wides. Although the number has decreased, it has not yet dropped to a manageable level. According to former India opener Virender Sehwag, if this keeps up, Dhoni, the captain of CSK, will soon be suspended for committing slow over-rate offences repeatedly.
NOT SO COOL DHONI
Dhoni was not smiling because he has previously stated that he wants the bowlers to throw fewer wides and no-balls. CSK had already bowled two to three extra , and they did so again against RCB. It shouldn’t progress to the point where Dhoni is suspended and CSK must play without their captain.
It seems he might only play a few more games given the type of knee injury he has. Although he is always pushing himself, Dhoni will need to take a break if his bowlers continue to bowl so many wides and no-balls, Sehwag said in an extra innings.
Sehwag was more upset with spinner Maheesh Theekshana than with Tushar Deshpande, who has been responsible for the most extras for CSK in this year’s IPL. “It is particularly depressing to observe spinners bowling wide. You have control over these things, he said.
