Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal, an Indian professional cricket player who competes for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Mumbai in domestic cricket, was born on December 28, 2001.His List A double century makes him the youngest cricketer in history. He was the player of the tournament at the 2020 Under-19 World Cup in South Africa and the leading run-scorer for the India U-19 side. Jaiswal was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals for US$300,000 at the 2020 IPL auction.

Domestic Career

Before making the mark in the domestic circuit Jaiswal came to lime light when he set an all-around school cricket record in 2015 when he scored 319 unbeaten and took 13/99 in a Giles Shield game, which was recognized by the Limca Book of Records. He was then chosen for the Mumbai under-16 team and the India under-19 team. At the 2018 Under-19 Asia Cup, which India won, Jaiswal had the most runs scored (318 runs) and was named player of the competition.

On January 7, 2019, Jaiswal made his first-class debut for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy for the 2018–19 season. On September 28, 2019, he made his List A debut for Mumbai in the 2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He became the youngest double centurion in List A cricket history on October 16, 2019, when he struck 203 runs off 154 balls against Jharkhand. He was 17 years, 292 days old. His innings, which was bowled by Varun Aaron and Shahbaz Nadeem, featured 17 fours and 12 sixes. He had 564 runs in 6 matches for an average of 112.80, placing him among the top 5 run scorers at the 2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He was selected for the India B team at the  Deodhar Trophy in 2019-20.

IPL Career and Statistics

He was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals in the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction in advance of that season. On September 22, 2020, he played his first Twenty20 match for the Rajasthan Royals in the 2020 IPL. On October 2, 2021, he played against Chennai Super Kings and reached his first half-century. On April 30, 2023, against the Mumbai Indians, Jaiswal scored 124 (62), becoming the first player to reach a century in T20 cricket. On May 11, 2023, against Kolkata Knight Riders, he scored the fastest IPL half-century with just 13 balls, breaking the previous mark shared by Pat Cummins and KL Rahul.
